Nationals.- This Monday afternoon, it was announced that the professional jockey Ángel Alciro Castillo left Venezuela at noon, after having participated in the sixth racing meeting that took place this Sunday, February 18 at the racecourse The corner place.
Castillo participated in the Sunday meeting with six mounts where he obtained a single visit to the winners’ paddock with the specimen Sweet Flower, belonging to the stable of trainer José Luis Balzán.
The information was announced by the National Superintendent of Equestrian Activities of Venezuela, Antonio (El Potro) Álvarez, in his personal account on the social network X (Twitter), in which he dedicated words of gratitude and encouragement to the professional jockey from the state Zulia.
Until now, Castillo is co-leader in the first meeting of the year, tied with José Gilberto Hernández and the apprentice Yoelbis González, the three with seven victories each, achieved in the six meetings that have been held at the Caracas oval.
Castillo achieved his triumphs with the horses: El Gran Mario, Mortero, Ping Pong, Mr Kamelooh and Orange Blue, trained by Riccardo D’Angelo; with the trainer Ramón García he won with the mare Altanera; and this Sunday, February 18, he won the award with Sweet Flower by José Luis Balzán.
