The program Nova Indústria Brasil (NIB), announced by the federal government at the beginning of the year, with the promise of being a catalyst to boost the national productive sector. By establishing a collaborative dialogue with the business community, the program indicates that it seeks a real commitment to the country’s industrial development. The highlight lies in the significant R$300 billion allocated to financing for the sector until 2026, signaling a substantial potential for significant transformations.

The NIB approach, focused on strategic sectors and specific targets until 2033, outlines a planned vision for agro-industrial chains; health; well-being of people in cities; digital transformation; bioeconomy, decarbonization and energy transition; and defense. These six missions represent priority areas for investment, aiming to boost the energy transition, promote a low-carbon economy and improve urban mobility.

“The significant investments, the sectoral approach and the focus on sustainability and innovation will certainly open doors for the modernization of the Brazilian industrial park, sustainable infrastructure and digital transformation. However, the viability of the program is directly linked to the efficient execution of projects, with solid cooperation between the public and private sectors and strategic adaptations, as necessary over time”, reinforces Antonio Toledo, CEO of Timenow.

In practice, the effectiveness in implementing these projects requires essential steps, such as planning, management, supervision, deadline and plausible budget for executing each one of them. In this scenario, specialized project management becomes crucial to the success of Brazil’s neo-industrialization process.

“Industrial project implementation management solutions, supported by an experienced team and methodologies based on best market practices, are essential for companies seeking to manage investments in greenfield and brownfield projects”, says the executive.

Toledo explains that this approach must cover all phases of the implementation process, from conceptual engineering and feasibility study to commissioning and ramp-up of operations, being customized to meet the specific needs of each client. “The resulting benefits include optimized efficiency in the use of resources, transparency and clarity in the progress of the project, significant reduction in ramp-up time and promotion of the development of skills and knowledge for the team and the organization”, adds the expert.

Furthermore, efficient management of industrial plant shutdowns is vital for the sustainable and profitable operation of industrial facilities. By optimizing time and resources, increasing operational availability and minimizing loss of profit, companies can achieve a balance between necessary maintenance and continuity of operations.

Another important resource is industrial asset management, which aims to optimize the value and efficiency of business assets, involving acquisition, use, maintenance and disposal. This systemic process seeks to ensure the efficient use and readiness of assets, including audits, preventive maintenance and life cycle cost analyses. According to the executive, the benefits include operational improvements, extending the useful life of equipment, more informed decisions, reducing risks and contributing to business sustainability. “Effective management results in more efficient operations, reduced costs and reduced environmental impact.”

“Given this scenario, NIB’s success is intrinsically linked to efficient project management. Whether implementing new industrial projects or optimizing existing operations, expertise in project management becomes a key component in achieving the program’s ambitious objectives. By synergistically integrating strategic planning, efficient execution and innovation, Brazil can effectively navigate the path of neo-industrialization, ensuring sustainable and profitable industrial development on the global stage”, concludes Toledo.
