A new Alzheimer’s drug is currently being tested and is called “Donanemab”. The drug is said to be extremely promising, especially for patients in the early stages.

Studies have shown that the drug slows the progression of the disease by 60 percent in the early stages.

However, significant side effects are also possible with the drug from the pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly. In addition to brain swelling, subjects also suffered from cerebral hemorrhage. Three deaths have also been linked to the treatment.
