Casetify accused of plagiarizing Dbrand and JerryRigEverything’s collaborative accessory design (JerryRigEverything)
Well-known accessory manufacturer Dbrand collaborated with technology YouTuber JerryRigEverything to launch a product inspired by teardown pictures. Teardown series design, but another trendy accessories brand Casetify also happens to have patterned accessories that look very similar. Today, Dbrand officially announced that it has evidence of plagiarism by its opponents and is suing the court for “millions of dollars” in compensation.
According to JerryRigEverything whose real name is Zack Nelson, the latestVideo commentarywhen he and Dbrand were developing related designs, “it took a long time to ensure that the Teardown pattern accurately restored the inside of the device”, and Nelson’s famous phrase: “GLASS IS GLASS AND GLASS BREAKS” was also hidden in the design pattern as an easter egg. This word also “happens” to appear in Casetify’s Inside Out pattern, which can be said to be the biggest evidence.

As for the alleged plagiarism of the Casetify Inside Out series, which has been removed from the shelves, there has been no official response. Dbrand takes advantage of the momentum and launches new series X-Rayis to reproduce the internal patterns of different products displayed under X-ray machines.
