Major Tran Ngoc Duy (31 years old, native of Vu Thu, Thai Binh province), resides in Yen Bai city, Yen Bai province. He used to major in Military Aircraft Flight, Air Force Officer School. He is the Deputy Squadron, Chief of Staff of the 1st Squadron of the 921st Air Regiment, 371st Division.

Major Duy was trained at the Air Force Officer School and has experienced the following duties and positions: Pilot, 2nd Squadron, 937th Regiment, 370th Division, Air Defense – Air Force; pilot, Deputy Squadron Leader, 1st Squadron, 921st Regiment, Division 371. Later, Deputy Squadron Leader – Chief of Staff of 1st Squadron, 921st Regiment, 371th Division of the Air Defense – Air Force .

During the mission, he accumulated a total of 725 hours and 25 minutes of flight time.

He was rewarded with the title of Junior Emulation Fighter in 2020. Before that, he was also promoted to the rank before the term of 2021, from the rank of Lieutenant to Captain.

Previously, at 12:09 on January 31, the Su 22 aircraft, number 5873 of the 921st Airborne Regiment, Division 371, Air Defense – Air Force piloted by Level 3 pilot Tran Ngoc Duy took off for a flight. first flight, training flight number 206.

At 12:27, during landing, the plane crashed, the pilot was ordered to parachute but tried to save the plane, but then the plane crashed and the pilot died.

Immediately after the incident, the Ministry of National Defense directed the Air Defense – Air Force and relevant agencies and units to urgently overcome the consequences, investigate and clarify the cause of the accident; together with functional agencies and Party committees, local authorities and mass organizations to visit and encourage family and do policy work for Major Tran Ngoc Duy and his family.
