Dubai: The Prophet’s Day holiday has been announced for the private sector in the UAE. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced in a statement that Saturday, October 8 will be a paid holiday. With this, the employees of institutions where Sunday is currently a weekend holiday will get two consecutive days off.
Prophet’s birthday is celebrated on the 12th of the month of Rabiul Awwal in the Hijri calendar. Saturday is currently a weekend holiday for public sector employees.
The next holiday comes in December in connection with the UAE National Day.
