The actress Proschat Madani (“Vorstadtweiber”, “Walking on Sunshine”), known from films and television series, makes her debut at the Vienna Volksoper in Kurt Weill’s musical “Lady in the dark”, which was adopted from the Robert Meyer era and plays the psychoanalyst dr. Brooks. Proschat Madani talks to Katharina Menhofer about Weill’s play, which premiered in the USA in 1941 and, unlike the “Threepenny Opera”, is rarely on the repertoire, about fixed role clichés and attributions, dream and future roles, and why one lives more freely without a concept of home.
