Through professional measures, the special case committee identified the perpetrator as Lu Xuan Minh (SN 2000), residing in Hoang Then commune, Phong Tho district, Lai Chau province. At the same time, the police force quickly verified the identity of the victim as Vu Van Y (SN 1979) residing in Duc Giang commune, Yen Dung district, Bac Giang province.
On January 11, the Special Cases Committee discovered and arrested Lu Xuan Minh who was fleeing in the forest area of Leng Xuoi Chin village, Hoang Then commune, Phong Tho district.
At the investigation agency, Lu Xuan Minh confessed: Due to drug addiction, he hired the victim to drive a motorbike from Bac Ninh to Lai Chau for 3.5 million VND. Then, tricking the victim to an empty area in Huoi Luong village, Hoang Then commune (Phong Tho, Lai Chau), the subject used a prepared knife to stab 13 times into the lungs and liver, causing the victim to die. After that, the subject robbed the victim’s property and took the victim’s motorbike and fled.
