Issue arrest warrant against Edmundo González Urrutia! The Venezuelan Attorney General’s Office requested on Monday an arrest warrant against the presidential candidate of the opposition Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD), Edmundo Gonzalezwithin the framework of an investigation that seeks to determine who is responsible for the website “Resultados con VZLA”, which published the results of the July 28 elections.

The request was made public on social media on Monday and comes after González failed to attend his third court hearing. The Public Prosecutor’s Office had summoned him this Friday at 10:00 am, local time.

Arrest warrant issued against Edmundo González Urrutia

The prosecution accuses González of crimes of usurpation of functions, forgery of public documents, instigation to disobedience of the law, criminal association and conspiracy. González denies all these charges.

The institution attributes the illegal acts to him because “Resultados con VZLA”, which belongs to the PUD, published the minutes of the electoral elections. The PUD says that it obtained these minutes through its electoral witnesses.
