The prosecution transferred the case of Lim Eun-jung, the Inspector General of the Ministry of Justice, who was accused of leaking official secrets, to the High-ranking Public Officials Crime Investigation Office (Public Investigation Office).

Lim reported on his social networking service (SNS) in March last year that he would criminally charge and prosecute an inmate from the prosecution side in relation to the case of perjury of the former prime minister. He posted an article stating that Section 3 was designated as the chief prosecutor.

Accordingly, the civic group ‘The Solidarity of Actions for Correcting the Rule of Law’ filed a complaint with the prosecution, claiming that Lim posted the inspection process corresponding to public secrets on SNS. The prosecution assigned the case to the 2nd Criminal Division, and after about 14 months of investigation, the case was transferred in accordance with Article 25 (2) of the Air Traffic Control Act. The provision of the law stipulates that if another investigative agency discovers a charge against an incumbent prosecutor, the case will be forwarded to the Airborne Service.

Previously, Lim had filed a complaint with the Ministry of Public Security and Public Service against the alleged obstruction of the investigation, which was posted on SNS at the time, against Yoon-elect and Cho Nam-gwan, former director of the Ministry of Justice Training Institute. After the investigation, the Airborne Service dismissed the charges on March 22. Officer Lim protested against this and filed a financial application on the 12th of last month, and the Seoul High Court is currently hearing it.
