After the project is approved, Roskomnadzor will be able to block pages with information regarding VPN services. The corresponding document was published on the portal of draft regulatory legal acts.

Roskomnadzor will be able to block sites that “advertise or convince” of the “attractiveness of using programs and methods for accessing prohibited resources,” it is stated in draft law. Prohibited ones include those that disseminate extremist, terrorist, pornographic or other illegal information.

Earlier, the Ministry of Digital Development made a proposal to provide Roskomnadzor with these powers. The order will be in effect from March 1 next year until September 1, 2029.
