NEW YORK, Aug 27.- Hundreds of people have moved to Gracie Mansion, the residence of New York Mayor Eric Adams, to protest the management of the immigration crisis in the US city and to call for a more forceful anti-immigration policy.

In the protest, there have been clashes with the Antifa movement, whose members have come to the area to carry out a counter-demonstration.

In recent months, Adams asked the country’s Justice to allow the city’s obligation to the right to housing to be suspended, justifying that his administration “cannot” house all the homeless.

The Democrat went so far as to ask US President Joe Biden at the beginning of the year to take measures aimed at “addressing this problem in a real way”, while he previously warned that New York might face complications at the fiscal and welfare level to help migrants who come to the city.
