2023-10-16 17:34:00

Protodeacon Andrei Kuraev, whom Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ had previously deprived of his holy orders, announced his emigration to the Czech Republic. The former priest wrote regarding this in his telegram channel.

“And yet – departure. <…> To some extent, the pain of lonely old age can be softened by immersion in the atmosphere of a happy Prague childhood,” reported Andrey Kuraev.

The ex-priest clarified that he still has former classmates in Prague. Kuraev also announced his intention to give lectures in the Czech Republic.

Kuraev was defrocked in April, writes Life. According to Patriarch Kirill, Protodeacon showed no signs of repentance neither in words nor in deeds, and also continued to “engage in destructive activities.”
