The incredible journey of the first Swiss to reach the final of the musical competition on TF1 came to an end on Saturday.

Loris is not the winner of The Voice, the musical competition on TF1, which seeks to unearth new talent. After an incredible journey, the 18-year-old from Neuchâtel managed to be one of the five finalists, the first Swiss to do so.

For his performances during the final, the Neuchâtelois returned to his universe, rap, with a song by Eminem. He was not qualified for the second part of the show and the superfinal which opposes two singers. Even if he didn’t win on Saturday, Loris had already won everything. Seeing among the five finalists of The Voice this young man, who gave up his activity as a landscaper to devote himself to music, is proof of this.

The winner of the contest is Nour. The youngest of the show won with 56.2% of the vote against 43.8% for Mister Mat. Besides Nour, Mister Mat and Loris, Vike and Caroline Costa were in contention in this final.

Loris had a lot of chances to advance to the final, as he was drafted twice by Nolwenn Leroy, once in the blind auditions and once in the semi-finals. The Neuchâtelois had declared in an interview with ArcInfo: “My coach Marc Lavoine told me well: my ass is lined with noodles”.

At the end of the semi-final on May 14, on social networks, some believed that the Neuchâtelois was a notch below and had no place in the final. As Nolwenn Leroy “chose to trust me, I’m going to have to come up with something even bigger, which will close the valves,” Loris told the Neuchâtel daily.

If he started music by rapping at Place Pury in Neuchâtel, Loris, who has only been singing for five to six months, has shown that he is capable of performing on different types of music. Loris aroused great enthusiasm in Neuchâtel, so much so that a fan zone was set up at the Mail tennis court in Neuchâtel, next to the singer’s father’s restaurant for the semi-final and for the final.
