The standard PlayStation 5 with a Blu-ray drive is Amazon France’s best-selling console this Saturday, November 7, after more than 1,000 units sold on the platform over the past month, Le Figaro reported. With GTA 6 landing November 19, some PS5 versions are already out of stock and prices are rising. Three DualSense controllers are discounted alongside it.
The timing is the whole story. Rockstar’s game arrives in twelve days, and Le Figaro ties the buying surge directly to it, warning that the disc edition could follow the PS5 Pro into shortage. Anyone waiting for a deeper cut is betting against a supply line that has already thinned in places.
Two consoles, two prices, two different sellers’ math
The edition Le Figaro covers is the 1TB Standard model with a 4K Blu-ray drive, listed at 649 euros and shipped with a DualSense. It outputs up to 4K at 120 frames per second, carries HDR and ray tracing, and plays the bulk of the PS4 library, which matters for anyone whose back catalog predates 2020.
La Dépêche du Midi, reporting a day earlier, tracked a different SKU: the digital edition, no disc drive, at 599 euros. Buyers rate it 4.7 out of 5 across 1,521 reviews on Amazon. Both editions run games from the internal SSD rather than a spinning platter, which is why load times land near-instant, and both keep an Ethernet port for wired online play.

Ouest-France adds a third variant to the clearance list: the limited 30th Anniversary edition, a digital-only model whose retro styling honors the original PlayStation launched December 3, 1994. It is also marked down on Amazon, though the outlet does not give a figure.
The DualSense discounts, from 74.99 to 199.99 euros
Le Figaro lists three official controllers on promotion, each cut from its recommended price. The figures, side by side:
| Controller | Sale price | List price |
|---|---|---|
| DualSense, Midnight Black | 74.99 euros | 78.99 euros |
| DualSense, Icon Blue limited edition | 79.99 euros | 84.99 euros |
| DualSense Edge | 199.99 euros | 219.99 euros |
The Edge, at roughly 9 percent off, is the pro-grade option: adjustable trigger travel, remappable buttons, tunable stick sensitivity, saved profiles for switching between game types, and swappable stick caps. The standard DualSense keeps the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, the features that let a racing game push back on the accelerator pedal or a shooter mimic recoil. Both connect over Bluetooth to PCs, tablets and phones, not just the console.

The Icon Blue edition is the cosmetic play, a retro-futurist neon shell with glossy PlayStation patterns on the touchpad. Same internals, different paint.
The PlayStation Store sale started November 4, and the outlets disagree on when it ends
Hardware is only half the promotion. Sony’s own PlayStation Blog confirmed the Black Friday sale opened on the PlayStation Store at midnight local time on November 4, with discounts up to 75 percent on hundreds of PS5, PS4 and PS VR2 games, expansions and DLC. The catalog refreshes November 16 and the sale closes November 30 at 23:59 local time, according to the blog.
Gamewave, covering the same launch day, reports a different end date: November 21. Both outlets describe the same promotion opened the same morning, so the discrepancy is theirs to resolve; Sony’s blog, as the official channel, is the more specific of the two. Sony itself notes some discounts will end early and others will be swapped in before the sale closes.

The game deals Gamewave itemizes include Marvel’s Wolverine Digital Deluxe at 69.29 euros, down from 89.99; 007 First Light Deluxe at 39.99, halved from 79.99; and Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader at 14.99, down from 49.99.
The 30-second read
Disc PS5 at 649 euros, digital at 599, controllers from 74.99, and a storewide software sale already running. The console prices are Amazon listings, not Sony’s recommended pricing, so they move without notice, and two of the four outlets covering this story are explicit that their figures are indicative only.
What is still unknown before November 19
Le Figaro reports the standard edition is selling fast but does not say how many units Amazon holds, so nobody can say whether stock lasts until GTA 6‘s launch day. The PS5 Pro is already gone. The end date of the PlayStation Store sale is disputed between Gamewave’s November 21 and the PlayStation Blog’s November 30. And none of the four outlets reports whether the 649-euro price will hold, drop further, or climb the way prices have on the versions already sold out.
