Will 2023 be a big year for the PS5? According to Sony, we can indeed expect this to be a “very important” period for the platform.

In about ten days from today, the time will have come for us to say goodbye to 2022 in order to welcome the new year as it should. A new year which, as we can imagine, will probably have its share of surprises and great moments in store for us. Moreover, according to Aaron Greenberg, we can expect a year “incredibly exciting” pour Xbox???????? Most Sony will not be outdone either since the manufacturer promises us a year “really important” for the PS5.

2023, a big year for the PS5?

This is indeed what Hideaki Nishino said in the columns of the Japanese media Famitsu, when he was asked about the future of PlayStation. And while he, of course, didn’t reveal any details about what to expect, it’s still worth noting that the vice president of platform experience replied that when asked about the possibility that a new model of PS5 could see the light of day. A lingering rumor for many months now, but which has never been confirmed.

By the end of fiscal year 2022, cumulative sales will exceed 37 million units, and we believe this will also be a very important period for the platform. I hope you will be there next year.

Suffice to say that this only adds a little oil to the fire, therefore. Now, if that turns out, it remains to be seen which model it will be. Because yes, if we trust the rumors of the hallway, two new iterations of the PS5 could be brought to light. The first, which could eventually replace the two current models, would be accompanied by a removable disk drive that players could, or not, obtain at an additional cost. The second would be a more powerful modelsays “Pro”, in the continuity of what was done with the PS4 Pro.

See you next year

Nevertheless, let us insist on this: none of this has yet been confirmed by Sony. It is therefore important to take a step back from all these rumors until the manufacturer itself has communicated on this subject. But anyway, given the words of Nishino, we can certainly expect great things for the PS5 in 2023.
