The team never gives up, even if we are aware that we are far from 100%. We have no excuse, but we didn’t have many vacations, we play right back again. The other teams had much more time to prepare,” Marquinhos noted.

On the opposing side, Lille was left to dwell on missed opportunities and late officiating decisions. Lille captain Benjamin André did not hide his frustration with the added time that allowed Paris to equalize. “They come and give us their chatter before the season, we discuss and once again… I can understand that he adds thirty or forty seconds, but we see that the extra fifteen seconds at the end is what makes the match tip over,” André remarked on Ligue 1+. “Obviously over the whole match, we were present, we defended well, we could have done better with the ball.
