PSG pinned by the Ministry of Labor!

Paris-Saint-Germain does not respect equal pay for men and women. An observation which does not surprise anyone, but which can be made within the whole of European or even world professional football. However, the Parisian club, like fifteen French companies, risks being pinned down by the Ministry of Labor for breach of professional equality. The index of this equality is in fact calculated on the basis of parity among the company’s ten highest salaries. List to which Lionel Messi, Neymar or Kylian Mbappé probably appear.

The club chaired by Nasser Al-Khelaifi is therefore exposed to a sanction of up to 1% of the company’s payroll. The trade union of professional football clubs “Foot Unis” underlined this total inconsistency, and therefore demanded from the Ministry of Labor a particular adjustment of this law, which is difficult to apply to the world of professional football.

Paris Saint-Germain will however have the ability to defend themselves. Before the sanction is applied, a contradictory procedure will be launched, during which PSG should be able to plead its case and try to demonstrate the particularities of the world of football with regard to professional equality. This does not prevent the PSG from promoting equality between men and women, around the Parc Des Princes.
