PSG: the Parisian club’s winter transfer window already over?

The winter transfer window closes at midnight on Monday and, a priori, this last day should be very calm on the PSG side. The club of the capital which had looked into the profile of Tanguy Ndombele did not push the track further leading to the international tricolor of Tottenham. On the Parisian side, it is argued that the transfer was complicated to achieve economically, even more so without leaving Mauricio Pochettino’s workforce. Finally, the Spurs midfielder, also observed by Valencia and Bayer Leverkusen, should join Olympique Lyonnais to compensate for the sale of Bruno Guimaraes to Newcastle.

The other files in progress do not have much more chance of succeeding in these last 24 hours. A time close to Bayer Leverkusen, Junior Dina Ebimbe is unlikely to join the Bundesliga this winter. The two clubs had entered into discussions for a loan, but they never agreed on the amount of the purchase option which PSG considered far too low. On the other hand, the capital club wanted to extend the player for three seasons until 2026 before his departure but, again, negotiations with the young midfielder (21) were unsuccessful. Result: Dina Ebimbe should stay like Layvin Kurzawa.

Dagba will not be loaned

The left side, sidelined by the Parisian staff, did not show a fierce desire to leave PSG during this month of January and his new agents did not manage to find him a way out. Finally, PSG have turned down all loan offers for Colin Dagba, believing they need the player as Achraf Hakimi has just been knocked out of the African Cup of Nations with Morocco. We can hardly give Paris wrong when we observe that Dagba should start this Monday against Nice in the Coupe de France, after the new defection of Sergio Ramos and the probable return of Thilo Kehrer in the axis of the defense.

Even if the Parisian leaders would not have said no to one or two additional sales, their winter transfer window should be limited to the transfer of Bandiougou Fadiga to Olympiakos against 20% of a future resale, Sergio Rico’s loans to Mallorca , Rafinha at Real Sociedad, and some young people (Nagera, Alloh, Noireau-Dauriat) in minor clubs. Mauricio Pochettino had also set the tone this Sunday in the middle of the day. “I’m very satisfied with the squad I have and I don’t expect anything (from the transfer window),” the Argentinian said at a press conference.
