Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin will not rule out the idea of peace talks with Ukraine. He was speaking to reporters late Saturday night following a meeting with African leaders in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Putin said the efforts of Africa and China will be the basis for finding peace in the Ukraine war. However, he said that there will be no ceasefire as long as the Ukrainian forces continue to attack.

Within hours of Putin’s statement, Ukraine reached Russia with a drone attack on Moscow. It was also informed that two office complexes were damaged in the attack. One person was injured. Following the attack, services from Vinukovo airport were temporarily suspended. Ukraine did not comment on the incident.

Russia and Ukraine have previously set conditions for peace talks. Russia’s condition is that it will not return the territories seized from Ukraine. Ukraine’s position is that there is no recognition of their surrender.

At the press conference, Putin said that there are no plans to escalate the attack on Ukraine.

Last month, representatives from seven African countries visited Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. After that, the Russia-Africa Summit was held in St. Petersburg.
