Putin issued nuclear warning to countries

Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a nuclear warning to Western countries over their involvement in Ukraine. Putin also announced the suspension of the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START) partnership, a major arms control agreement between the US and Russia. Russia’s Ministry of Defense and Nuclear Corporation should be prepared to test nuclear weapons if necessary. Putin also warned that if the US continues nuclear tests, it will retaliate in kind.
The main reason for the start of the conflict in Ukraine is the United States and European countries. Putin accused them of turning the problems between Russia and Ukraine into a global crisis. NATO is trying to extend its border to Russia. Putin said that Russia is defending against this. Putin’s statements were made while addressing a joint session of the Russian Parliament. In an hour-long speech, Putin criticized Western countries.

Throughout the speech, Putin made statements justifying the military action in Ukraine. Putin said that military action will continue until the goal is achieved and that it is impossible to defeat Russia. Russia tried to avoid war. But Putin accused Ukraine of planning to invade Russian-controlled Crimea with the support of Western countries.
The START agreement was signed in 2010 by then US President Barack Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. The treaty limited the number of strategic nuclear weapons that the United States and Russia could deploy. The agreement, which went into effect in 2011, was extended for another five years in 2021 after Joe Biden took office.

Putin came out with the nuclear warning right after US President Joe Biden’s visit to Ukraine. Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Ministry has summoned the US Ambassador Lynne Tracy and demanded the withdrawal of troops from Ukraine. The letter to Tracy called for the US to take steps to ensure the withdrawal of US-NATO troops and equipment and to end anti-Russian activities.
