After the alleged Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian military airfields far inland, concerns about an escalation of the war are increasing. Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that the danger of a nuclear war was growing. Russia sees its nuclear weapons arsenal only as a deterrent, but will defend itself “by all means”, repeating similar messages expressed since the beginning of the war. At the same time, concerns grew that troop movements in Belarus could create a second front for Ukraine.
