Qatar Post Launches Automated Robotic Sorting System to Boost Postal Productivity

Doha: Qatar Post has launched a new automated robotic sorting system to increase the productivity of the postal sector.

The aim is to increase the productivity of postal operations with the help of robots and improve delivery of postal materials. It is capable of handling 4,500 – 5,000 postal packets per hour.

Apart from ensuring comprehensive coverage across the country, delivery operations to Qatar Post branches will also be carried out. The scheme includes services including e-government envelopes, postal parcels and e-commerce products of different weights.

The project involves 70 robots capable of sorting and sorting postal items weighing up to 30 kg and 60 cm wide. Sorting operations assisted by robots will speed up Qatar Post’s operations.
