Doha: Qatar is implementing indigenization in various sectors. The natives were employed in private companies. In the first three months of this year, 337 natives were recruited through the job training program. Appointments are made to senior positions in private companies. Labor Ministry spokesman Khalid Hussain Abdullah made the remarks while speaking on a Qatari television program.

The highest number of appointments were in finance and insurance companies. Indigenous people got jobs in top positions in the energy and industry sectors, telecommunications-IT, services-transportation, real estate, contracting and hospitality. The Ministry of Labor provides various employment opportunities in the private sector for the natives through the National Employment Platform.

He said there are many benefits for natives when working in the private sector. If the degree is a basic qualification, the native can be directly appointed to higher posts in private companies. The Ministry of Labor will provide the necessary training depending on the nature of the job. He said that in the government sector, one has to wait a long time for promotion after joining the primary posts.
