The Victoriaville Tigres took advantage of the American Draft of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (LHJMQ) to select the son of Martin St-Louis, defenseman Lucas St-Louis.

The Centre-du-Québec club used the second overall choice of this auction to obtain the rights to the 17-year-old back.
In 2021-2022, Lucas St-Louis played in the USHS-Prep, an American circuit for high school-age players. He had six goals and 29 assists for 35 points in 30 games for Brunswick School. Next year, the son of the head coach of the Montreal Canadiens must play for Harvard University and he will be eligible for the 2023 National League draft.
It would therefore be very surprising to see Lucas St-Louis in a Tigers uniform one day. The American draft of the QMJHL allows the teams of the Courteau circuit to get their hands on the rights of skaters who evolve in our neighbors to the south, in the event that they choose to make the jump to the Canadian junior one day.
