Meanwhile, experts take this change as a sign that the apple company’s effort to manufacture them internally has not yet borne fruit.

Qualcomm and Apple have not always had a good relationship, as they faced legal problems over the supply of chips, as the apple company alleged that Qualcomm required it to pay excessive patent fees to purchase the chips.

The companies resolved their differences in 2019 and reached a long-term patent licensing agreement and supply agreement.

Following the 2019 deal, Qualcomm assumed it would supply only 20% of the modems in Apple’s smartphones launching this year, while Apple worked on their replacement.

With Monday’s new deal, according to The Wall Street Journal, Qualcomm is expected to take on just 20% of the modem chips for Apple’s phones through 2026.

According to the specialized press, it is most likely that Apple will announce its new iPhone tomorrow, at its annual event, probably called the iPhone 15, and that they will use Qualcomm modems.
