With summery temperatures, the Ingolstadt Citizens’ Festival was very well attended at the start on Friday. The police speak in their balance sheet of a peaceful process.

The police were not called to several physical altercations in the city center until later in the evening. But the police quickly intervened and resolved the dispute.

Shortly before 11 p.m., a 66-year-old Ingolstadt resident suddenly attacked a security employee on Kanalstrasse when he temporarily closed the street for a fire brigade operation. The security guard was slightly injured by a blow to the head. Criminal proceedings for bodily harm were initiated against the perpetrator, who, according to the police, was visibly intoxicated with more than one per thousand.

Another argument broke out just before 1 a.m. behind the cathedral. Two men suffered minor injuries, police said. By the time emergency services arrived, only the two injured were on site, and the perpetrators had fled. The two slightly injured men could not provide any information about the perpetrators.

The police recorded a total of four bodily harm offenses on the Friday of the Bürgerfest. Those involved sustained only minor injuries.

Around 2:30 a.m., the police had to take a 24-year-old man into custody. The Ingolstadt resident had previously been expelled from a bar on Kreuzstrasse by the security service. But the man returned a short time later. Since, according to the police, the man was completely unreasonable and did not obey a police eviction, the drunk man was taken into custody.
