10 days before Christmas, we are witnessing the traditional rush to stores across Quebec.

However, according to a recent survey, Quebec consumers spend less money than their compatriots in other provinces.

In fact, Quebecers plan to spend an average of $663 during the holiday season, while the national average is $898, according to the Léger survey conducted on behalf of the Retail Council of Canada.

Our journalist went to Carrefour Laval, where traffic was very high Friday afternoon, to ask people how much they planned to spend for Christmas this year.

One young woman admitted to having already spent $3,000, while others said their spending was several hundred dollars.

Others mentioned wanting to spend less this year.

“I think we give too many gifts. I really limited myself this year and I said to myself: they will love me anyway!”, one consumer told us.
