Quebec deplores 21 additional deaths linked to COVID-19

The death toll linked to COVID-19 increased considerably on Friday, with 21 other Quebecers who succumbed to the disease.

Among the deaths announced in the government report, four occurred in the last 24 hours and four others two to seven days ago. Thirteen deaths occurred more than seven days ago.

Since the start of the pandemic, 18,181 Quebecers have died following contracting the disease.

As for hospitalizations, there is a decrease of 18, for a total of 1,316 patients with COVID-19. Among them, 445 receive care specifically for the disease.

In intensive care, 27 Quebecers were treated in all, including 13 due to COVID-19, which represents a drop of five.

The number of new infections remains in the same waters as in the past few weeks, at 418, but these data do not allow the extent of the cases to be measured since access to screening centers is limited. Quebecers also self-declared Thursday 26 positive cases detected by rapid tests.
