The schedule for the plenary committee on the Québec tramway is now known. Every aspect of the transit megaproject will be covered during this important four-hour “update” on Monday.

The Journal got its hands on the agenda for the meeting, very few details of which have leaked since its announcement on March 10.
The municipal administration and its project office will face the music and listen to the grievances and concerns of members of the municipal council during a question period of more than one hour to conclude the committee of the whole, between 11:55 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
The meeting scheduled for 9 a.m. is decisive for the future of the project, since it will precede a crucial vote aimed at ratifying the recommendation of the executive committee to award the contract for the construction of tramway trains to the French multinational Alstom for an amount of 569 million $.
The deliberation will take place during the meeting of the municipal council, Tuesday. Mayor Bruno Marchand’s team needs a majority of 22 votes to move forward.
Too few in number to tip the scales alone, the elected representatives of Québec Forte et Fière will have to convince the other members of the council to support the decision of the executive by allaying their fears.

On Monday, a twenty-minute presentation on strategic planning will open the ball after a speech by Mayor Marchand.
The City will continue its explanations on the costs of the project, before addressing the issue of the procurement process for infrastructure and rolling stock.
She will then return to the preparatory work for the tramway site in the Saint-Roch, Montcalm–Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Vieux-Limoilou–Maizerets and Sainte-Foy sectors. Details on the communication campaign surrounding the megaproject are also planned.
A 20 to 30 minute question period will take place after each item on the schedule to allow elected officials to ask for clarification.
