Jaime Del Burgo, former brother-in-law of Queen Letizia, claims he had an extramarital affair with her. This 53-year-old Spaniard claims to have crossed paths with the former journalist in 2000 and that they began a relationship before and after the commoner’s marriage to Felipe VI in 2004.
They would have seen each other again between 2010 and 2011 until Letizia cut ties to preserve her marriage. Rejected, the businessman would have finally set his sights on Letizia’s sister with whom he was married from 2012 to 2014.

Jaime Del Burgo shared a private message allegedly sent to him by the queen as “proof” on his X account (formerly Twitter). “Love. I wear your scarf. It’s like I feel you by my side. She takes care of me. She protects me. I’m counting the hours until we see each other again. To love you. To get out of here”, wrote, supporting photo of the queen. The photo, seen around ten million times on the social network, was finally deleted. “We have no comment to make on this subject,” simply declared a spokesperson for the Royal Palace of Spain.
