  • A rumor rocks the Spanish royal family.

  • According to journalist Jaime Peñafiel, Queen Letizia became pregnant with her daughters because her sister Erika donated eggs to her.

  • It goes on to say that Letizia later forbade Erika from visiting the girls.

The last six weeks must have been a nightmare for Queen Letizia. Her ex-brother-in-law Jaime del Burgo (53) first claimed in his book “Letizia and I” that he had had an affair with the Spanish queen while she was already with King Felipe VI. was together, now a new rumor is shaking the 51-year-old’s life.

The famous gossip journalist Jaime Peñafiel revealed in an interview that shortly after her wedding to Felipe, Letizia was only able to get pregnant thanks to the egg donation of her sister Erika Ortiz Rocasolano. According to Peñafiel, the story came to a tragic end when Erika took her own life on February 7, 2007 – Letizia is said to be to blame.

“It was almost her daughters too.”

“I have a reliable source,” emphasized the journalist. “My sources told me that Letizia had problems getting pregnant.” He knows from other insiders that the wife of the then heir to the throne traveled to Valencia several times, where she was treated for fertility problems.

Peñafiel continued: “According to my sources, Letizia’s sister Erika gave her eggs so that she could become pregnant.” The reporter makes it clear that this is “neither bad nor strange,” but that may be the reason why Erika has developed a special passion for Letizia’s daughters Leonor and Sofia. “Because to some extent it was her daughters too.”

Erika is said to have gotten along so well with her two nieces that Letizia forbade her from coming to the royal palace in Madrid and approaching her daughters. Erika then became depressed, said the 91-year-old journalist.

Erika a little depression

Peñafiel’s statements contradict the version of David Rocasolano, a cousin of Erika and Letizia. In his book “Adios princesa” (Adieu Princess), the relative says that Erika Ortiz Rocasolano had financial problems some time before her death. She was dating a sculptor who barely earned any money. Erika sold books door to door to survive. At the time, the couple lived with Erika’s young daughter Carla in a house without hot water in Asturias. It was Letizia who made sure that the family’s refrigerator and pantry were always full.

Six months before Erika’s suicide, the couple’s situation changed radically: the woman found a good job at a TV station, while her husband earned good money from assignments. However, when he received a scholarship in Uruguay, the two separated. This hit Letizia’s sister hard. “In addition, the media pressure became unbearable for Erika. (…) There was a deep depression lurking behind it that we didn’t know how to recognize,” writes the cousin.
