The temporarily activated telephone number 1722 is intended for requests for assistance from firefighters for storm and water damage, for example flooded cellars or road flooding. The Ministry of the Interior specifies that the quickest way to request help from the firefighters is a digital request via the website 1722.be.
These are the emergency center operators who also answer telephone calls to 1722. However, they give priority to the most urgent calls to the emergency number 112, which is used for life-threatening situations.
