VIENNA – Austrian inflation fell to 2.4% in August, according to preliminary estimates from Statistics Austria. It is at its lowest level since April 2021. Prices were likely to fall by 0.2% in August compared with the previous month. Fuel and heating oil in particular have become cheaper, thus having a dampening effect on prices compared with the previous year.
