Muskies and the Thrill of the Unexpected
As an angler, there’s nothing quite like the feeling of the unexpected. While I cast my way around Northeastern Ohio waterways, seeking the familiar thrill of game fish like bass and walleye, sometimes the unexpected arrives, erupting like a bolt of lightning.
Muskies.
Muskellunge, to give them their proper name. Or muskies for short.
These freshwater torpedoes, native to the Upper Ohio River system, are elusive enough as it is. One, however, marked me forever.
