Do not rush to throw away old spoons and forks if they are darkened and the coating cannot be washed off. There is a clever trick that will quickly solve the issue.
Pour water into a saucepan and place on the stove. Add one tablespoon of baking soda, one tablespoon of salt and one tablespoon of sugar. Bring the solution to a boil and stir thoroughly.
