Rachid M’Barki: The Scandal, Dismissal, and Allegations of Foreign Interference in French Journalism

2024-01-03 19:20:42

Rachid M’Barki, a recognized figure in French journalism and historic presenter on BFM TV, was recently fired and then indicted for breach of trust and passive private corruption. Born in 1969 in Toulouse, M’Barki was long considered a leading journalist, until accusations of foreign interference tarnished his reputation. According to Politico, he was influenced by Morocco to disseminate biased content.

Despite his dismissal by the Altice group following an internal investigation, M’Barki maintains his innocence. However, his departure for Morocco and his rapid hiring by Atlantic Radio, a station linked to the Moroccan royal family, fueled speculation. Le Canard Enchaîné reports that this rapid positioning might be seen as a sign of guilt, raising even more questions regarding its journalistic integrity.
