Radeon Monster Profile "RMP" is an enhanced tuning utility for AMD RDNA 2 GPUs, which will be integrated into Hydra and announced this fall.

This time, it will focus on GPU performance rather than CPU with a new tool called RMP or Radeon Monster Profile to deliver higher performance with RDNA 2 and even less power.

According to Yuri, the Radeon Monster Profile aims to optimize the performance and wattage of AMD’s Radeon GPUs with a unique combination of settings utilizing a new voltage/frequency curve.

This allows the graphics card to deliver its full potential.

While the GPU is the main component of the graphics card, RMP pays special attention to the memory subsystem, lowering the operating voltage by 6% to reduce the power consumption and heat output of the GDDR6 memory modules.

RMP (Radeon Monster Profile) further improves performance by increasing the requested core (GPU) frequency relative to the operating voltage.

As an example, the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics card can achieve a frequency boost of up to +300MHz for standard operation.

As a result, it is possible to improve performance by up to 13% compared to genuine products.

For example, the RMP-optimized AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT shows a 21% improvement in Frames/$ while consuming almost the same power as the stock, which is quite impressive.

Radeon Monster Profile (RMP) features several universal and adaptable profiles.

They do not change any of the factory settings stored within the GPU’s BIOS, such as thermal throttling limits or fan speeds.

It also does not raise the operating voltage or change the current limit.

However, GPU cooling is a prerequisite for best performance with RMP.

A good cooling solution for your AMD Radeon graphics card can give you much better GPU results.

Most of the non-reference cooling solutions for the Radeon RX 6000 series are listed as meeting the required cooling requirements.

RMP (Radeon Monster Profile) will be integrated into the Hydra suite used to tune AMD’s Ryzen CPUs when it launches this fall.

Multiple OC and tuning profiles with different maximum allowable power will be presented. The profile is currently under development, so the performance presented here may differ from the final product.

According to Yuri, RMP will support RDNA 2 GPUs at launch, but plans to support the upcoming RDNA 3 GPUs in the future.

Commentary:

It seems that software that optimizes the operation settings of Radeon will be announced.

Its name is RMP (Radeon Monster Profile).

The RX6800XT listed as an example has a standard operating clock of +300MHz, and seems to be able to do a good OC.

It’s not clear if this will also update custom model OCs, or just basic models.

Since it is planned to be integrated into Ryzen’s CPU tuning tool Hydra, it seems that there is no choice but to try the details.

The target is for RDNA2, and it seems that RDNA3 will also be targeted in the future.

I think it depends on the person whether you like AMD because you can improve performance with such software, or you feel that AMD’s settings are immature.

I’m the kind of person who feels like a little bit of a win.
