Raffenstättergasse district gets a bridge for pedestrians and cyclists – Architecture & City

It was more than just a bad joke by Vienna’s urban planners: the residents of the large new residential buildings in the Marlen-Haushofer-Weg/Raffenstättergasse district in the Donaustadt district have a good view of the Stadlau business park with its dozens of shops and the Stop Shop retail park – but getting there physically, on foot or by bike, has so far only been possible with a huge detour. This is because the ÖBB railway line lies in between. An underpass or overpass, as was originally considered when planning the new district, has not yet been built.
