Ragpicker in Bengaluru Discovers $25 Crore in US Dollars in Garbage Dump

BENGALURU: A garbage collector received US dollars worth Rs 25 crore from a garbage dump. Salman Sheikh received 23 bundles containing US dollars from Bengaluru on November 1. In the shock of getting so much money unexpectedly, Salman kept it in his hands for a few days, not knowing what to do with it.

On November 5, he told his boss Bapa. Bapa discussed the matter with social worker Kali Mulla and he contacted the police commissioner. Then the police called them and questioned them. Investigation in this regard is going on at Hebbal Police Station.

Notes are coated with chemicals. The police believe that it belongs to the dollar smuggling group. The Reserve Bank of India has been approached to ascertain whether the notes are fake.
