Due to an investigation into the irregular dumping of waste into the waters of the Neuquén River, troops from the Argentine Naval Prefecture raided the Centenario Sewage Effluent Treatment Plant.
The Presidency reported that during the operation an inspection of the state of operation of the plant was carried out. In addition, samples of the effluent were carried out, as well as in different points of the riverbed, for its subsequent chemical analysis.
The conditions of the place were also verified. “Location, design, operational and idle capacity, treatment process, state of operation and existing devices to face extraordinary contingencies”, they expanded.
The procedure was ordered by the Federal Court No. 2 of Neuquén, in charge of Gustavo Villanueva, with instructions from the Federal Prosecutor’s Office No. 2 of María Cristina Beute.
