Rail traffic interrupted between Saint-Ghislain and Mons after a collision of person: the victim died

A train carrying several hundred passengers to the Belgian coast was stopped after a collision of people which occurred around 9:40 am. Traffic on line 97 has been interrupted and a replacement bus service to Mons station has been put in place. According to Infrabel, train traffic should return to normal during the afternoon.

The Mons public prosecutor’s office indicated that no outside intervention has been identified concerning the death of the victim. The thesis of the accident or the suicide would therefore be accepted.
