Bernhard Raimann narrowly lost on his preseason debut in the National Football League (NFL) with the Indianapolis Colts. The offensive lineman, who was drafted in the third round, was beaten by the Buffalo Bills by a narrow 24:27 with the Colts on Saturday evening (local time).
Raimann was on the field with the second set of the offense line as a left tackle and showed an appealing game that was even praised by US journalists as “solid”. When Sam Ehlinger passed a touchdown to Michael Jacobsen in the fourth quarter to make it 22:10 in the meantime, Raimann even kept his quarterback free with a block.
Indianapolis, where A playmaker Matt Ryan, who had switched to the Colts after successful years in Atlanta, impressed in the first quarter, but did not bring a 24:10 lead in the final period over time. Buffalo, led by running back Raheem Blackshear (two touchdowns), turned the game around. Kicker Tyler Bass made the decision in favor of the home side with a field goal from 46 yards.
