The fires that affected the delta areas of the Paraná River in the provinces of Santa Fe and Entre Ríos they were extinguished as reported by the Ministry of the Environment. For its part, the provincial state attorney, Julio Rodríguez Signes, assured that Entre Ríos “has no legal responsibility” about the fires and He affirmed that it is “the people of Rosario who are making inappropriate use” of the islands.

And he added in a statement: “Assigning responsibility to Entre Ríos for the events that occur is a contradiction in terms”.

The high temperatures and the lack of rains contributed to aggravate the situation while the causes “were anthropic and it is very difficult to determine how it was generated, because for that you have to be in the place of the fire, and when a heat point is detected there is already a column of smoke and the fire has been there for a while, “said spokesmen for the Entre Rios Secretary of the Environment.

The Emergency Attention and Prevention Brigade (BAPE) worked; Civil Protection of Santa Fe; Volunteer Firefighters of Victoria; Civil Defense, of the Entre Ríos Police and Fire Management Plan; and National Parks.

They also have two helicopters from the Entre Ríos Police and the National Fire Management System.

In Entre Ríos, almost 20,000 hectares were affected by fires reported between January 1 and December 2, 2021.

In addition to the fires registered in islands of the Paraná river delta, in recent days new igneous foci were detected in front of El Palmar National Park (Colón); in Calabacilla (Concordia); on the island of the Port (Concepción del Uruguay); and in about 14 hectares of the town of Federación.

In the case of the Buenos Aires islands, there was a joint effort by the Nation, the province of Buenos Aires and the municipality of San Fernando, which operated for three days. There the Ministry added an airplane and a helicopter from the Argentine Naval Prefecture.
