“Rainy gala, happy gala” one could say, paraphrasing the adage. While the planet is overheating throughout the Mediterranean basin, Verbier was plunged yesterday in an autumnal mist, embellished with a tenacious rain. Swapping shoes for an umbrella, we dreaded the gala evening with great fanfare of the festival: four hours of program that could have led to a musical liver attack. Designed as a wedding cake, the anniversary menu included three parts – from the great repertoire to more local specialities.
