Raisi in a conference with Al-Kazemi: We are certain that there is no point in continuing the war in Yemen

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN)— Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi stressed that the continuation of the war in Yemen is pointless, in a press conference he held with Mustafa Al-Kazemi, the Iraqi Prime Minister who was on a visit to Saudi Arabia.

The official Iranian news agency quoted Raisi as saying at the conference: “The two countries stress the strengthening of ties between the countries of the region, and we believe that dialogue between the leaders of regional countries would solve the current problems, with our assertion that foreign intervention does not solve our problems, but rather complicates matters further.” “.

He continued, “We affirm that there is no point in continuing this war, which has only brought pain and suffering to the people of Yemen.” He added: “The cease-fire would push for a solution to the Yemeni crisis and the establishment of dialogue between Yemenis.”

For his part, Al-Kazemi indicated, according to what was reported by the Iranian agency, that his talks with the Iranian president focused on “the stability of the region, and crucial regional issues, and the two sides’ confirmation of a ceasefire in Yemen, and support for the principle of dialogue that leads to ending the war inside this country.”
