The 3rd and 4th graders took part in raising awareness of cardiovascular diseases by going to various stands set up in the Alain Colas gymnasium on Tuesday April 25, 2023.

It was under the impetus of CCAS staff that this action was able to take place in order to raise students’ awareness of cardiovascular diseases.

The 3rd graders came in the morning and the 4th graders in the afternoon, supervised by Mrs Fautrelle, PE teacher.

The 5 interactive stands to facilitate exchanges between students and speakers gave another dimension to this awareness. Each half-day began with a presentation of the action by Marion, nurse at the nursing home, then the students toured for 2.5 hours on the 5 stands.

A stand was oriented on the misuse of screens, it was called The trial of screens. Marion and Léogadie moderated the debate, in the style of the court of assizes. The students were divided into the role of lawyer, prosecutor, jurors, etc., a real debate on a subject that affects our way of life in society.

The next, devoted to food, was presented by Sigolène Murat, dietitian in charge of the nutrition project at Grand Chalon, and Julie, trainee dietician. Learn to balance your meals, avoid snacking on sweets, …, eat vegetables, fruits, a whole range of what is or is not good for your health.

Gaëtan Jeudy from the Center for Adapted Physical Activities (CAP) and Jessica, an educator, addressed issues related to obesity and bullying on their stand. They revisited with the students the ways of dealing with exclusion due to difference, the risks and dangers of these exclusions which often put the person concerned in difficulty who will start to eat even more or will close in on themselves. and lose weight to the risk of disease.

Roger Giroudon and Odile from the Heart and Health Association of Chalon attached to the French Federation of Cardiology made a presentation of the actions that save lives. The students were able to practice cardiac massage and the use of the defibrillator.

Municipal deputies Jeanne-Marie Martin, Marie-Thérèse Boissot and Henri Lombard, visiting the gymnasium, attend a demonstration at the Heart and Health stand.

The last stand showed with a video the benefits of physical activity on our body and our health. This stand was animated by Franck Courdier sports educator and Florence Fautrelle professor of PE. Students had to complete a questionnaire “Children and Adolescents Physical Activity en Sedentary Questionnaire” (Capas.q). The data will then be analyzed by Franck.

The students were very interested in this information action, they asked many questions. The speakers hope that through their action, young people’s awareness of the risks due to a sedentary lifestyle, “junk food”, exclusion, will be effective for their health.
