Furthermore, SOS Inceste calls for a Parliamentary Commission similar to that which emerged for sexual abuse in the Church. “We must be able to think together about a national awareness and prevention plan on the issue of incest, and on appropriate and reimbursed care.“ adds Lily Bruyère.
For Miriam Ben Jattou, the indirect cost of what she suffered is enormous. “To treat this mental health, it costs me more than 600 euros per month. I am only reimbursed 150 euros per year from the mutual insurance company. […] I suffer from complex post-traumatic stress“.

Contacted by us, Miriam’s mother acknowledges the acts allegedly committed by her ex-husband, but not by herself. In the meantime, Miriam wants to continue her fight in court and continue speaking out. “I want to tell all the people who thought they had the right to appropriate my body that they didn’t win. To make children aware of the horror of incest, Miriam Ben Jattou wrote a book, entitled Le Secret, under the pseudonym Tayiam. Eddy Kaganek, for his part, participated in the documentary “Behind the facade… Incest”.
