The co-president of Ecolo, Rajae Maouane, considers it “unacceptable” and “extremely dangerous” for parties to stir up existing anger, as, according to her, representatives of the MR and the PTB have done in Schaerbeek within the framework of the demonstration against the Good Move mobility plan.
“This violence is unacceptable and where it is even more complicated, and where I am angry, is when this violence is exacerbated and fueled by political parties… It is unacceptable for us, when political parties like the PTB or the MR stir up anger and fuel the solution with violence… They have stirred up the anger of the population, it is extremely dangerous to stir up an anger that exists”, she commented on Bx1.
The ecologist also criticized the PTB for lacking consistency with its own 2018 program for the municipality of Schaerbeek, in which the far-left formation indicates that “the bicycle will be the norm, the car the guest”.
