Rajae Maouane, however, also received support from Abdel Sabbani, the president of the Brussels taxi federation. “All our support for Mrs. Rajae Maouane who sets an example and uses Brussels taxis, the latter represent a credible alternative to the personal car which is authorized on Sunday without a car,” he says.

Faced with the controversy, the co-president of Ecolo defended herself: “To get to the RTL set, I opted for public transport: the taxi. Quite stressed by the stakes and by the idea of arriving late for the punchers, I took a taxi and took responsibility for it,” she explains. “But don’t panic, I enjoyed Brussels without cars afterwards,” she assures.
